2025-2026 Shooting Stars League Info

Kindergarten and First Grade will be instructional only. First grade may combine with 2nd grade in team game play pending registration numbers. 3rd/4th and 5th/6th will be team game play. Practices are one night during the week and all games are played on Saturdays. COACHES NEEDED!!! Our league cannot exist without the help of our volunteer coaches. Please, if you can volunteer!! All players new to the league and new to each division are required to attend the skill assessment on November 9th. This is to ensure equal team assignments. Second grade teams will be assigned at random due to the non-competitive nature of the league.

- 5th -6th Grade 1:30PM - 3:00PM
- No skill assessment for 2nd grade, teams will be assigned at random

NEW THIS YEAR! FALL CLINICS!!!

To better prepare your player for the winter season, we will be running a short program that focuses on the fundamentals of basketball. Each week instruction will be provided on dribbling, shooting, layups, passing, etc. The goal is to provide a good foundation on proper basketball techniques. Third graders may sign up for both the Tuesday and Sunday clinic. Below is a breakdown of the clinics:

Beginner Basics

Grades 1st - 3rd CO-ED

Tuesdays 5:30PM - 6:30PM

October 14th - November 11th

This is designed for kids who have never played basketball or are working on getting the basic foundation of basketball skills. It will be focused on drills with the opportunity to play 4 on 4 games in the last 2 sessions

Cost: $25 per player, CASH ONLY, must pay at first session

Advanced Fundamentals

Grades 3rd - 6th CO-ED (Limit to 32 Players per session!!)

October 5th - November 2nd

This is designed for players with a good foundation in basketball skills and will work on fine-tuning those skills to ensure proper form and function. We are very grateful to have Jonathan Bilbow, Assistant Coach for Lackawanna College Women’sBasketball team and USA Basketball Gold and NCAA Certified Coach to run this clinic. He has spent 8 years coaching AAU and working on player development with MySkyElite 10u-17u. He has done several Coach BreakThrough Basketball Camps and is the Founder/CEO/Lead Clinician and Trainer for Advance The Game Project Coaching and Player Development.

Tournament Teams (BOYS ONLY)

Last year’s tournament teams provided extra basketball and competition that some players are looking for. This year’s programs will run in a similar way. Mandatory practices on Sundays and possible Fridays. Two -three tournament participation within 1 hour distance

Practices/try-outs will start on Sunday, November 23rd and run until the first week of March.

8-10 players per team. Try-outs will be necessary if more than 10 kids sign-up

The fee will be $100 in addition to the regular season fee
